Colored Earth’s Atmosphere and Extra-fine Moon Near the New Moon (June 5, 2022) –Excite News

This photo was taken from the ISS (International Space Station) and shows a very thin moon above the Earth’s atmospheric layer, which glows dark in red and blue. This photo was taken around 6:47 on May 29, 2022 (Japan time, same below). At the end of May 2022, 20:30 on the 30th was the time of the new moon, so the moon shown in the image is a month that is quite close to the new moon.

You can see that the dark part of the moon is faintly visible once morest the background of the jet-black universe. This is because the sunlight reflected on the earth illuminates the surface of the moon.

This was taken one minute following the first photo. Compared to the photo at the beginning, the atmospheric layer of the earth is projected more vividly. Both photos were taken from above the South Indian Ocean.
