Colonel Valverde was in charge of making people laugh this Saturday night at the Olmué Huaso Festival.

Marcelo Valverde, the comedian’s real name, is a psychologist by profession and one of the founders of “El Sentido del Humor”, a program that in 2023 emerged as the best podcast at the Copihue de Oro awards.

Part of his routine was focused on reliving moments from the 90s and 2000s that marked Chile, such as the turn of the millennium, the “Campos twins” and “Mekano”.

At one point he even asked a member of the audience his age to make a comparison of the “references” of young people today, to which the assistant responded “2004.”

Next, Valverde related some “canonical events” that those born following 2000 did not live.

It was in this part of the routine, where he launched a joke regarding Mekano and Cathy Barriga, former member of the program and former mayor of Maipú, now accused of fraud to the treasury and falsification and misuse of public instrument.

Regarding the phenomenon that was Mekano, he added that “The one who did best is now locked up”referring to Cathy Barriga.

“Daniela Aránguiz in Tierra Brava, yespu”added Valverde, which unleashed blunders among the public. “Whore, they don’t like Daniela Aranguiz. They thought she was talking regarding Cathy Barriga, noo, “That one is piolite in the house”, Colonel Valverde continued.

This unleashed another series of blunders from those attending the Olmué Huaso Festival, however, they immediately changed them for laughter.
