Colonel of the Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff (GOMU GSh) of the Russian Armed Forces Ivan Mertvishchev, who is responsible for conscripting citizens for service, was caught by FSB officers while receiving a bribe with a washing machine. It is reported by “Kommersant”.

“The Moscow court sent Colonel Ivan Mertvishchev under house arrest for two months. He is accused of taking a bribe with a washing machine from the military commissar of the United Military Commissariat (OVK) Ramenki, ”the newspaper writes. He admitted his guilt.

As the journalists specified, on the eve of his visit to Ramenka’s UWC for an inspection, Mertvishchev “made it clear” to his military commissar that he would find something to complain regarding.
