Dirt on the beaches is a problem. There are more and more environmental campaigns that aim to not throw trash in these spaces and even to pick up someone else’s trash if you come across it. Given the importance of that, today we show you a list of the most contaminated in Colombia.

The truth is that finding papers, cigarettes or food in the sand is not a pleasant experience at all. Neither is being in the sea and suddenly having a piece of plastic touch our leg.

Colombia is not located in a pleasant place at all in the classification of the most polluted beaches in Latin America. This was exposed following the First International Macrotrash Sampling, where 700 volunteers from different countries analyzed contaminants in sand and sea.

There were 700 volunteers who participated in the study, belonging to Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile. There, 12,000 kilometers of 130 beaches on the east coast of the Pacific were evaluated.

Colombia was the one that presented the most garbage, with almost 100 percent of the beaches containing plastic. However, the analysis did not distinguish by beach, so, to obtain this response, ChatGPT was consulted regarding it.

Artificial intelligence selected a place that was known to be problematic due to the amount of waste and contaminants. However, ChatGPT clarified that everything can change over time, due to community or government actions to clean up the areas.

Meanwhile, he mentioned La Boquilla Beach, in Cartagena, which was affected by solid waste and waste management problems.

On the TripAdvisor portal, this tourist place has diverse opinions, ranging from praise for the landscape to complaints regarding its dirt or the high cost of services that some tourists who are victims of scams may face.
