Colombians’ schedule in the third week of the Champions League

Greetings, football fanatics! It’s that time again! The UEFA Champions League 2024/2025 is here, and we’re in the thick of it, much like a player after they’ve taken a tumble. This week’s matches promise plenty of drama, tension, and probably a few shouts of “Offside!” that echo through the streets of Europe. But today, let’s dive into the Colombian talent ready to strut their stuff on the grand stage—because who doesn’t love a little flair with their footy?

Perfect Scores and Colombian Stars

As we gear up for the third week of the Champions League, it appears some teams are doing better than my aunt’s fruitcake at Christmas dinner! Seven teams have emerged victorious in all matches so far: Borussia Dortmund, Stade Brestois, Benfica, Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Juventus. Talk about a bunch of overachievers! Maybe they should start their own club called the “Perfectionist Society.” Their first rule? No losses allowed… ever!

And amidst this fierce competition, we have a handful of Colombian players eager to make an impact. On Tuesday, fans will get to witness a clash of Colombian titans when Jhon Jader Durán from Aston Villa takes on Jhon Janer Lucumí from Bologna. It’s a bit like watching a game of chess, but instead of pawns, you’ve got players who tackle and sprint. However, Durán will likely start on the bench—because, you know, they say good things come to those who wait. Or at least that’s what my last relationship taught me.

Match Day Madness

  • Tuesday October 22
    • Jhon Durán vs. Jhon Lucumí: Aston Villa vs. Bologna – 2:00 pm (Colombian time)
    • Juan David Cabal: Juventus vs. Stuttgart – 2:00 pm (Colombian time)
  • Wednesday October 23
    • Juan Guillermo Cuadrado: Atalanta vs. Celtic – 11:45 am (Colombian time)
    • Luis Diaz: RB Leipzig vs. Liverpool – 2:00 pm (Colombian time)
    • Juan José Córdoba: RB Salzburg vs. Dinamo Zagreb – 2:00 pm (Colombian time)

And remember, folks, while we support our Colombian troopers, let’s not forget the other players! Girona will be in action, but alas, they’ll be without Yaser Asprilla or Jhon Solís due to injuries—because it’s just not a football tournament without a little drama, right?

Europa League Spotlight

Now, speaking of Colombians making their mark, let’s take a quick detour to the Europa League, shall we? Davinson Sánchez is flying the Colombian flag solo, starting for Galatasaray in their match against Elfsborg. With four points at stake, let’s hope he brings his A-game—or at least remembers the last time he misplaced a pass! (Yikes!)

Meanwhile, keep an eye on Jhon Mosquera, Kevin Medina, and Pedro Antonio Bravo. Will they shine, or will they just add to the highlight reel of “What Were They Thinking?” Only time will tell!

Wrap Up

So, there you have it, friends! The UEFA Champions League week three is set, with our Colombian stars ready to dazzle. Remember to tune in, grab that cup of coffee, and enjoy the beautiful game. Let’s bask in the absurdity of grown adults kicking a ball while we sit safely on our couches—because in the end, whether it’s a win or a loss, football brings us all together…even if we argue about it the next day at the water cooler.

The third week of the league phase of the UEFA Champions League 2024/2025 arrives. After two intense days, seven teams have a perfect score (Borussia Dortmund, Stade Brestois, Benfica, Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Juventus). For this new date of the continental tournament, six Colombian players would have action.

On Tuesday, the first day of competition, two players from the Colombian National Team will face each other in Aston Villa vs. Bologna. Jhon Jader Durán, who has just converted against Chile on the last day of the South American Qualifiers, would start on the bench, while Jhon Janer Lucumí, defensive leader of the Italian team, would be the first baseman. On the other hand, Juan David Cabal could add minutes in the match between Juventus and Stuttgart.

Girona will also participate on Tuesday, but will not be able to count on Yaser Asprilla or Jhon Solís, absent due to injury. On Wednesday, Atalanta, with Juan Guillermo Cuadrado on the bench, will host Celtic. Same case of Juan José Córdoba, who would be a substitute in Salzburg vs. Dinamo Zagreb. Luis Díaz would be a first baseman for Liverpool’s visit to RB Leipzig.
