After learning that the National Police announced a reward of up to 200 million pesos for information regarding the kidnapping of the father of Colombian player Luis Díaz, the Colombian Football Federation spoke out on the matter and sent his captors a strong message.
This kidnapping has been rejected by members of international football, as well as by the Colombian player’s teammates, who showed their support in the middle of the Premier League match played on the morning of this Sunday, October 29.

The Colombian Football Federation also showed its support for Díaz and sent a strong message to those who until now continue to deprive the Guajiro player’s father of his freedom.
“We ask the captors of Luis Manuel Díaz, father of Luis Díaz, let him be released now, without conditions. Football is peace. Lucho, we are with you. “Colombia is with you,” the Federation wrote on its social networks, with an image of the player with his father.
According to the attorney general, Francisco Barbosa, the kidnapping of Luis Manuel Díaz Jiménez, father of the England Liverpool star Guajiro Luis Díaz, might have extended to Venezuelan territory, so it would be necessary to act under new orders from President Gustavo Petro.
“Unfortunately, there is also the possibility that this person might leave or be taken to Venezuela, and in that case, if there is a transfer of Father Luis Díaz to Venezuela, we will have to ask President Gustavo Petro to help us because in the end he is the one who has contact with those authorities,” Barbosa told Semana.
General Salamanca traveled to La Guajira to lead the rescue of the father of the English Liverpool footballer and the National Team, which is why he announced the reward.
“To announce, on the instructions of the Minister of National Defense, a reward of up to 200 million pesos to anyone who allows us to find the whereregardings of Mr. Luis Díaz,” said General William René Salamanca, director of the National Police.
