The Colombia Under-23 National Team led by Héctor Cárdenas, played an international friendly in preparation for the 2024 Olympic Qualifiers and once morest Peru at the Jaime Morón stadium in Cartagena, the team wanted to leave a good impression.
The coffee team and the Peruvian team had a fairly even game for most of the game and the scoring actions were scarce in both goals, but Cárdenas’s team managed to open the scoring before the break.

In the 45th minute+1, Colombia scored the goal through Charlotte player Kerwin Calderón Vargas, who managed to define with a powerful shot inside the area and ended up leaving the Peruvian goalkeeper with no option.
For the complement, the match continued without many dangerous scoring options and Colombia maintained its minimal difference. However, the Peruvian goal came through Víctor Guzmán in the 87th minute and they surprised with the 1-1 score.
In the end, Colombia did not pass that test once morest the Peruvians at home and they still have not won following defeats in the last Pan American Games in Santiago 2023.
Now, Héctor Cárdenas’ team will face this same rival once more and on December 12 they will play the second friendly in Barranquilla.
