Colombia Rises: Thousands Rally for Government Support and Social Reforms – Gustavo Petro’s Impact

2023-09-27 21:54:08
Thousands of people took to the streets throughout Colombia to support the Government of Gustavo Petro and the social reforms established in Congress (health, education, work and pensions). In Bogotá, at least 25,000 people came to the Plaza de Bolívar (city center) to accompany the president.

Such was the call, that the same Guard Indigenous of the Cauca, the most representative of the southwest of the country, came from its territory to walk through the center of the city. It is a civil resistance movement that aims to defend the ancestral territories, life plan and human rights of its communities.

In the streets, the call of the people was the same: speed with social reforms and carry out the agrarian reform so that the farmers can finally have the land to cultivate.
