Some days ago, Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortegadescribed Colombia as a “narco-state”, an expression that he had already used in December of last year.

Given this, the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a communication in which it stated that “the Colombian people are not only victims of drug trafficking, which grows incessantly due to the international demand for drugs, but they have also suffered from the different threats to national security, fueled above all by the money coming from that illicit activity, which unfortunately is supported by the dictatorships that have been enthroned in our region”.

Further, ordered Ambassador Rangel present the note of protest and asked him to return “immediately” to Colombia, a decision that is also a sign of protest in international relations.
