Colombia, Mexico and Brazil insist that the CNE release the minutes

Brazil, Colombia and Mexico expressed that it is essential that the National Electoral Council, CNEfrom Venezuela presents the results of the presidential elections of July 28, 2024, broken down by voting table.

The statement was made in a joint statement by the foreign ministers of these three countries following a virtual meeting held on Wednesday, August 7.

“By taking note of the process initiated before the Supreme Court of Justice of Venezuela (TSJ), they start from the premise that the CNE is the body that corresponds, by legal mandate, with the transparent disclosure of the electoral results.”

The ministers reaffirmed the need to allow impartial verification of the results, while respecting the fundamental principle of popular sovereignty.

They also reiterated their call to the country’s political and social actors to exercise maximum caution and moderation in demonstrations and public events.

They expressed their respect for the sovereignty and will of the Venezuelan people and emphasized their conviction and confidence that solutions to the current situation must come from Venezuela.
