**The Colombian government yesterday insisted again that it is necessary to count all the electoral records in Venezuela and audit them, in a second public statement by its foreign minister, Luis Gilberto Murillo, who refused to refer to any candidate or recognize any victory.**
“For peace in Venezuela, it is necessary to know all the minutes of the final results and for them to be audited by the world. The international community and the Venezuelan people expect transparency and electoral guarantees for all sectors to prevail, and it is also extremely important to clear up any doubts about the counting,” Murillo said in a video released by the Foreign Ministry.
Claudia Sheinbaum, the president-elect of Mexico, called for “transparency” in the results of the Venezuelan election, without yet recognizing the proclaimed victory of President Nicolás Maduro, but also criticized foreign “interventionism” in the process.
“I believe that we should wait for the final count, make the vote transparent, that always helps, and leave the self-determination of the people of Venezuela. And, at the same time, that there is no violence, that everything is peaceful,” said Sheinbaum in a press conference in which she gave her first statements on the subject.
“I heard the president (López Obrador) speak about the 80% counted yesterday morning, we must also wait until the end of the count. So I think the first thing is transparency in the result, that the counting is finished, and the second thing is to also say that we do not agree with interventionism,” said Sheinbaum.
