Colombia adds 693 infections and 19 deaths from covid-19

Bogotá, March 19 (EFE) .- Colombia added 693 infections and 19 deaths from covid-19 this Saturday, with which it accumulates 6,080,589 infections and 139,439 fatalities from the pandemic since the first case was reported on March 6 of 2020.

With the numbers of the day, the number of active cases decreased to 5,495, while that of recovered patients rose to 5,912,996, according to the Ministry of Health.

The highest number of infections of the day was registered by Bogotá with 384, followed by the departments of Boyacá (119), Valle del Cauca (49), Antioquia (44), Santander (25) and Cundinamarca (20).

The deaths of the day, of which 17 correspond to previous days, occurred in Bogotá (8), Santander (4), Córdoba (2) and Antioquia, Atlántico, Casanare, Sucre and Tolima, with one case each.

During the day, 14,456 covid-19 tests were processed, of which 7,042 were PCR and 7,414 antigens.

On Thursday, the last day that the Ministry of Health reported data, 108,066 vaccines once morest covid-19 were given, of which 31,814 were second shots and 6,426 the single-dose formula from the pharmaceutical company Janssen.

In total, Colombia has applied 79,557,334 doses and 34,365,680 people already have their complete vaccination schedule. Likewise, 9.76 million citizens have received a booster dose.
