Military forces rescued a minor who had been kidnapped in Bogotá and was in Chinácota, in the department of Norte de Santander bordering Venezuela.
The girl’s father reported the kidnapping of his daughter and a cousin in Bogotá to the Military Gaula and was warned that she could have been taken to Cúcuta, capital of the department of Norte de Santander, the Army reported in a statement.
The Military Gaula (the anti-kidnapping military force) and the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Prosecutor’s Office carried out an operation in a house in Chinácota where they believed the kidnapped girl was.
“The minor was released at the scene and a man was captured, who is apparently involved in the kidnapping,” the Army said.
Others rescued
In addition, there were also two teenagers in the house, who have been placed in the hands of institutions for children and adolescents.
“After restoring the rights of the rescued minor in Norte de Santander, she was handed over to the Colombian Institute for Family Welfare, to later be reunited with her father,” the Army concluded.
The Colombian Government has a toll-free telephone line (01 8000 52 2020 nationwide or +57 (1) 6001035 from outside the country) that can be called if you want to inquire about an attractive job offer, about the assistance route for a victim of human trafficking, about recommendations before and after traveling or to report possible cases of trafficking.
For cases of sexual abuse, the Colombian Institute for Family Welfare (ICBF) has enabled the telephone line 141, which is free for any adult or child who needs to report an emergency, make a complaint or ask for guidance on cases of child abuse, sexual violence, bullying, child labor or consumption of psychoactive substances, among other situations that affect minors.
