Venezuelan pivot Néstor Colmenares and Nacional de Montevideo qualified undefeated for the final four of the South American Basketball League, after defeating Español de Osorno 79-59 on the last day of group A of the continental event.
The quintet from the Uruguayan capital won their four matches in the key that was played in southern Chile, supported by Dominican forward James Feldeine and Chilean center Manny Suárez.
Feldeine averaged 20 points, 2.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists, while Suárez left records of 19.5 points, 5.5 sacks and 1.5 deliveries.
Colmenares, in the last match against the hosts, produced three goals, nine boards and three decisive passes, for those led by former Marinos de Oriente coach, Álvaro Ponce. Throughout the event, the Venezuelan international had averages of 6.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists.
It was not enough for Fontena
Carupanero power forward Juan Fontena did not have the same luck and ABA Ancud (Chile) was eliminated after losing 83-55 to San Lorenzo (Argentina).
The Ancuditans finished the phase with a 2-2 record.
In the match against the Argentines, the Sucrense registered two points, two rebounds and one assist. In total, throughout the tournament, the former Marinos player showed figures of 6.0 cards, 3.8 captures and 1.0 deliveries.
