11 students from Colegio San Bartolomé, located in the Comuneros neighborhood, in Cúcuta, were hospitalized for having taken viagra to meet a challenge.

According to the challenge, the young people had to place the famous blue pill called viagra in some food or drink, to then be ingested. In addition, people must record the entire process, from the placement of the sexual stimulant, to the reactions that are generated following taking the drug.

The rector of the educational establishment, Astrid Leonor Álvarez, indicated that the ninth grade students, who are between 14 years old, mixed the pill in a passion fruit juice when they were at recess. Minutes later, they began to suffer from tachycardia, a symptom that immediately alerted the managers.

The students were quickly taken to the Comuneros Basic Unit (UBA), where they received timely care, the newspaper reported. The opinion.

Ricardo Contreras, coordinator of the health center, pointed out that the 11 admitted children arrived at 12:15 pm. He highlighted that only 2 of them presented strong symptoms.

“The prior assessment was made and care was prioritized. Of the 11 children, 2 presented symptoms following ingesting unknown substances, presumably Viagra. The other 9 patients underwent a prior assessment and were referred to their EPS”, added Contreras.

The coordinator of the health center also said that the Police for Children and Adolescents and the Municipal Health Secretariat were present at the scene to take charge of the situation.

“Due to the situation, the institution proceeded to activate the care route to resolve atypical behaviors that affect the good image of the institution. I urge parents to guide, accompany and monitor their children on the proper management and use of social networks. The incident was dealt with immediately, therefore the headquarters is operating completely normally,” the institution’s rector reported in a statement.

Álvarez specified that this Wednesday an urgent meeting will be held with parents, students and the school counselor, to take measures and prevent this situation from happening once more.

“There is a problem here and it seems that during the time we were in the pandemic, the children forgot the rules, the children returned as unmotivated and at this moment they are in an attitude that we need the support of the school counselor, teachers and all parents. We are a school where we pray with the students every day, we instill principles and values in them, this was very surprising, but unfortunately the children copy the bad and the negative that is given by social networks”, added the rector.

However, this is not the first case in the region this year. A few weeks ago, The opinion learned that, in the municipality of Ragonvalia, a young man was regarding to die, following his classmates gave him several Viagra pills in a mango juice.

In Colombia, in the month of February, several students in Atlántico were intoxicated following ingesting Viagra that other students had previously mixed with a soft drink.

Specialists point out that people who take Viagra may experience some side effects such as headache, red eyes, heart rhythm disturbances, high or low blood pressure, facial flushing, dizziness, among others.

Viagra is used to treat erectile dysfunction in men (impotence; inability to get or maintain an erection).

Sensitivity reactions to the drug, blood pressure disorders, headaches, vision loss (thrombosis), priapism (an erection that does not subside), which ends in surgical treatment and subsequent impotence and possible psychological dependence, are some of the dangers to short and long term that can occur when taking viagra without control. The affected organs are the corpora cavernosa of the penis and the heart.
