College Employees Demand Fair Negotiations for Better Education Services: Breaking the Silence on Public Sector Negotiations

College employees demonstrated Friday morning in front of the offices of the Fédération des cégeps in Montreal.

They describe themselves as largely overlooked in negotiations with the public sector in education.

Remember that the collective agreements expired last March.

“Unfortunately, we will have to start raising our voices to break the wall of silence,” they proclaim.

“Right now, if we let things go, we’re going to have major problems providing services to students,” they add.

The labor shortage affects both support staff and professionals, a problem that is now widespread.

It is not excluded that this type of mobilization will multiply in the coming weeks.
