Kozhikode: The 11-day strike at the Kozhikode Collectorate over the demand of the NGO union to cancel the transfer order of the Revenue Department has come to an end. The Collector assured that 10 of the 16 relocated village officers would be recalled and those under the age of three would not be relocated. Although the NGO union had decided to intensify the strike from Tuesday, Collector Dr. N. Tej Lohit Reddy and NGO The strike was called off during a meeting of union officials this morning.

The NGO has demanded the cancellation of the transfer order of 16 people. When the union demanded, the collector was of the opinion that it could not. But in a discussion on Tuesday, the collector agreed to the protesters’ demand.

The NGO union had been on strike for 11 days demanding the cancellation of the relocation order. The protesters demanded that only those who have been in government for three years be relocated as per government norms. The Joint Council, a CPI service organization, favored the Collector’s decision. On Monday, the collector called for a discussion to settle the strike. When the talks failed, the protesters came out with slogans against the collector. After consulting with the state leadership, the next day, the day and night protests were also discussed. This was followed by another discussion on Tuesday.

At the same time, there was a huge outcry that the strike had disrupted the functioning of the civil station but no action had been taken against the employees.
