“Today, the government showed openness and engaged with FIQ to reach an agreement that respects both the needs of the population and the requirements of FIQ caregivers,” said Wealth Council Chair Sonia LeBel.

In the “proposals put forward”, the Legault government suggested “taking a different path to achieve our flexibility goals that will allow us to better care for Quebecers”.

The content of the proposal is unclear at this time, but Ms. LeBel noted in a written communication that “the proposal takes into account the concerns expressed by FIQ members.”

“It is now up to FIQ to take steps to join us,” she added.

For its part, FIQ confirmed in a publication on the X platform that it “has returned today”.

“Since July we have been waiting for follow-up action from the government. We confirm that the return has been made today. We are currently analyzing the content,” we can read in the publication.
