PLN Workers Union (SP PLN) celebrated its 25th Anniversary with the theme “Guarding the vision of sustainable and socially just energy with a spirit of collaboration based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia”. This event also carries the sub-theme “25 years of SP PLN’s presence to maintain the integrity and continuity of the company as the manager of the nation’s future energy and the welfare of PLN employees”.
This activity was held at the PLN Head Office Auditorium, Jakarta, attended by 750 SP Member participants from all over Indonesia, both online and offline.
Several important figures were also present, including the Director of Institutions and Prevention of Industrial Relations Disputes of the Directorate of PHI & Jamsostek Heru Widianto, who represented the Deputy Minister of Manpower, President Director of PT PLN (Persero) Darmawan Prasodjo, and Director of Legal & Human Capital Management of PT PLN (Persero) Yusuf Didi Setiarto and his staff.
In the celebration of the 25th anniversary or silver age, various important activities were also held, one of which was the presentation of charters and plaques as a form of appreciation for the President Director who has supported PLN’s journey. In addition, the launch and review of the book Penerang dalam Gelap, a work that tells the inspiring journey of Darmawan Prasodjo in facing major challenges as the leader of a national energy company, was carried out.
The General Chairman of SP PLN, M. Abrar Ali, in his speech revealed that SP PLN had experienced dualism. However, at this celebration, SP PLN received a special gift with the dissolution of the Laskar PLN Workers Union and its return to join to strengthen the principle of One SP, One PLN.
“This is a new milestone that adds to the strength of the labor union and encourages our optimism that PLN will become an energy company that is entirely state-owned and managed for the prosperity of the Indonesian people as mandated by the constitution of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Abrar Ali.

Darmawan Prasodjo in his speech emphasized that the return of Laskar PLN to SP PLN by disbanding itself as a union organization was a historic event that became the beginning of a new struggle in facing future challenges.
“We will not only face the challenges of disruption technology and climate change, but also have a big responsibility to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, carry out clean energy-based energy expansion, and build PLN’s increasingly solid financial strength,” he said.
Meanwhile, Heru Widianto expressed his appreciation for the journey of SP PLN for the past 25 years. He emphasized that the age of 25 years shows the credibility of SP PLN which is trusted by its members, as well as the Pancasila industrial relations that are running well in PLN, thanks to the togetherness between the board of directors or management with SP PLN.
“With the spirit of unity and collaboration, SP PLN is ready to face the future full of challenges with optimism and strong determination, ensuring the integrity and continuity of the company as the manager of the nation’s energy and the welfare of PLN people,” said Heru Widianto. (Z-6)
