Collaboration between KSI and Pemkab Batubara to Control Waste Problems

FIFTY, Waspada.co.id – The Batubara Regency Government (Pemkab) has big plans to build a final waste disposal site (TPA) in Simujur Village, Laut Tador District.

This plan was revealed by the Regent of Batubara, Ir H. Zahir MAP in the Dissemination of Waste Management in all sub-districts within the Batubara Regency Government in the Hall of the Batubara Regent’s Office.

“Not only as a disposal location, but how can waste be managed in a good way and can improve the community’s economy,” said Zahir, last Wednesday (8/3).

This hope is in line with the presence of Khadijah Sharaswaty Indonesia (KSI) in the region. “This is also the reason KSI is here (Batubara), one of which is to educate the public on how to manage waste and turn it into money,” he explained.

And asked all government officials, especially in the Batubara Regency Government to set an example in their respective environments. “Because the waste management facilities and infrastructure will be implemented in stages at the Batubara Regency Government. It only remains for its sustainability and utilization by the community, so that the facilities can really be maximized,” he said.

The challenge is the culture and habits of our society which must be synchronized, so that waste management is more optimal. “I also asked the Housing, Settlement Areas and Environment Office of the Batubara Regency Government not to get tired of stimulating and motivating people’s awareness. So they have high concern for the environment,” he said.

In this socialization, Founder of Khadijah Sharaswaty Indonesia (KSI) Sri Dewi F. Natadiningrat, said that as a friend of the earth, KSI always supports and will participate with anyone when dealing with the environment, especially waste issues.

“KSI is here as a partner in the waste control and management program in Batubara Regency,” said Dewi.

Regarding this waste, Dewi advised everyone to stop blaming each other because what is needed is cooperation between the government and the community to clean up coal.

“The regency government cannot work if its people have not been educated on environmental awareness. And vice versa, the community cannot enjoy a clean environment if the Regency Government does not provide the facilities and infrastructure,” he concluded. (wol/eko/d2)
