Cold front on Easter Monday, then friendly and mild again

On Easter Monday it is expected to get up to 25 degrees in Vienna, so another summer day is possible. Up to 23 degrees are possible on Friday.

Im Detail: Am Montag The cold wind passes through in the west and southwest early in the morning and ends the southern foehn. With dense clouds, it rains widely and sometimes heavily, especially in the southern Stau. Further east there will still be occasional sunshine in the morning. Soon the clouds will thicken here too and the cold front will cross the whole of Austria. This means that rain and showers will spread to all parts of the country and there may be local thunderstorms in the east and southeast. The snowfall line drops from west to east to 1,200 to 2,100 meters above sea level. The wind blows moderate to strong from the south to northwest. The early temperatures are between six and 15 degrees, the followingnoon temperatures between eight degrees in Vorarlberg and 25 degrees in Vienna.

Am Tuesday The day starts with partly dense remaining clouds from Lower Austria to Styria and Burgenland. The clouds will soon clear up here and the day will be largely unstable over the eastern half. There will be alternating clouds and sunny phases and a few rain showers, some of which will be thundery. In the far west and also south of the main Alpine ridge, rain showers are less frequent and there is no precipitation most of the time. The snowfall limit is between 1,100 and 1,700 meters above sea level. In the Danube region there is a moderate to strong wind from the west, otherwise mostly moderate and generally weak in the south. From one to ten degrees in the morning, temperatures rise to up to ten to 18 degrees.

With a westerly high-altitude current, Wednesday Significantly milder air masses have arrived once more, but there are also some extensive cloud fields across the sky and the sun only shines intermittently. In the southwest, some rain is expected throughout the day and in the western mountains the tendency to showers will also increase slightly in the followingnoon. The snowfall limit is 1,700 to 2,000 meters above sea level. The wind blows light to moderate from southeast to west. The early temperatures are between zero and seven degrees and rise to eleven to 19 degrees during the day.

Am Thursday The westerly to southwesterly flow brings mild air masses and mostly quite sunny weather. At times there are also a few harmless cloud fields moving across the sky. Local showers are possible over the mountains in the followingnoon, but it will mostly stay dry. The wind blows partly briskly from the west in the north and east, otherwise there is little wind. In the morning it is one to eight degrees and during the day it is 15 to 21 degrees.

Am Freitag It becomes increasingly milder with southwesterly high currents and there is a slight foehn wind along the northern side of the Alps. Overall, the weather is mostly friendly and partly sunny, even if there are some high and medium clouds moving across the sky. The wind will be light to moderate from southeast to southwest. The early temperatures are two to eight degrees, in the followingnoon the thermometer should show 18 to 23 degrees.
