According to the FIR registered for the abduction of Zulfiqar Ahmed: ‘When Zulfiqar Ahmed and his friends reached the Edhi Mobile Center on Maripur Road near Qaiser Agra Taj Colony, a white Toyota Surf, without a number plate, pounced on them. Stopped the car.

Eight unidentified armed men got out of the vehicle and took Zulfiqar Ahmed and his friend Qaiser with them. After some time Qaiser was thrown from the car and Zulfikar Ahmed was forcibly kidnapped and taken with him.

On receiving the news of the abduction, Zulfiqar’s family and the company management submitted an application to Kalri police station on the same day. However, as the police did not file a complaint, the family approached the Sindh High Court on Friday to register a case of kidnapping.

The Sindh High Court, while hearing the petition on Friday, had issued a notice to the Federal Ministry of Interior, Sindh Home Department, Inspector General of Police (IG) Sindh and sought a response by July 30.

After the preliminary hearing, the court had also summoned the station house officer (SHO) of Kallari police station on July 30 in his personal capacity.

Zulfiqar Ahmed is the Chief Executive Officer of Textiles and Meezan Group since 2016, who is also known for his philanthropic work.
