COMEDIAN Coki Anwar said that to play his character in the horror film Pusaka, he had to get rid of the comedic impression that had always stuck with him.

“My first experience playing in a horror film, with Rizal Mantovani, right, he is famous for his good visual art. In this film, I don’t really show jokes or comedy,” said Coki Anwar, quoted Sunday (7/7).

For Coki Anwar, the experience of playing a horror film is quite tense because the film genre is full of action and bloody scenes.

In the film Pusaka Coki plays the role of a security guard named Darmo who is tasked with guarding the house and is also responsible for the heirlooms in the house.

To get into his character, Coki Anwar prepared each scene by playing with his expressions so that they looked right and not too exaggerated.

“If there is more special preparation because this is a horror film, yes, especially there are scenes where we have to get the right expression and not make it too much,” said Coki Anwar.

During the filming process, Coki felt that it was quite enjoyable because it was not difficult to build bonds between the actors even though some of them had just met for the first time in the film.

He had an accident following finishing filming which made him have to take a break. The support from the cast who came to visit him made the closeness even more felt even following the filming was finished.

Coki also admitted that he quite enjoys watching horror films, especially local horror films, one of which is Perempuan Tanah Jahanam by Joko Anwar.

He also hopes that if he gets the chance to act in a film once more, he can explore other roles, namely an antagonist character.
