Jakarta

Apple is holding the Swift Student Challenge (SSC) again in February 2025! This annual competition invites students all over the world, including Indonesia, to show off their coding skills and creativity using Swift, Apple’s flagship programming language.

Interestingly, Apple will expand coding resources to help students build innovative and engaging applications. This is certainly good news for prospective SSC participants, because they will get more support to develop ideas and realize their dream applications.

“At Apple, we are committed to supporting and nurturing the next generation of coders. Every year, we are impressed by the brilliant applications students create, and we are excited to see what the next round of the challenge will bring,” said Susan Prescott, Vice President of Worldwide Developer Relations, Apple.

Registration for the 2025 Swift Student Challenge will open in February for three weeks. Apple will select 350 winners whose work demonstrates excellence in innovation, creativity, social impact or inclusivity.

Later, Apple will select 50 Distinguished Winners or honorary winners to be invited to take part in the 2025 Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC).

On this occasion, Apple announced updates to the Swift Coding Club to help students prepare for SSC, while building community and developing skills for future careers. The Swift Coding Club starter kit provides activities to empower students with a passion for app development to further explore Swift and SwiftUI and share this information with their peers.

Also updated are Develop in Swift Tutorials which can help students understand the foundations of coding and imagine what can be achieved with Xcode, Swift, and SwiftUI when they create applications for all Apple platforms.
