Is it still necessary to present Call of Duty? And what’s more, his series modern warfare? It seems that for a few years now, the giant Activision has understood that what worked was to bring out titles that had already been successful. And following testing the beta of the new version of Modern Warfare 2we have to admit that success is still largely there.

Testing this game, as part of the test weekend open to the public, allows us to make three observations. The first is that the craze seems to have gotten the better of the stability of the product for a while. Between being kicked out military hand of a game whose start was however imminent, following having waited several minutes for the selected level to be loaded, and the fatal errors which caused the program to crash, you had to take your troubles patiently. Fortunately, the developers seem to have worked hard to correct the situation, and no other major error was subsequently detected by this journalist.
The second observation is that the game is ambitious; ambitious enough, in fact, to default to a level of visual quality and technological performance that was well beyond the means of this reporter’s computer. It was therefore necessary to manually reduce the ambitions of the game to bring everything back to the “ultra” level of performance. And if this “reduction” has made it possible to obtain a completely fluid and detailed experience on small levels, it is enough to pass on medium-sized levels for the performance to start to decline once more.
Finally, the third observation is that games addicted to Call of Dutywho have been playing all the variations for ten or even fifteen years, are also interested in this Modern Warfare 2 Remastered. With the result that in some multiplayer games, our life expectancy is counted in seconds. We do not know if we are killed with a timeless 360 no scopebut it can cause some frustration.
These pitfalls aside, it must be admitted that MW2, of its small name, is not only a good multiplayer game, but probably tends towards excellence. Yes, there are a few too many game modes, including something that tries to copy the series Battlefield, with clashes on gigantic maps, vehicles included, but in more restricted formats, in particular those where two teams of six compete for control of a package or a prisoner (why offer the same thing twice, by the way?), the title is particularly amusing. The weapons are well detailed, the action is frenetic, and if there is still a strong risk of being largely dominated by experienced players, it is also possible to do well. After all, a submachine gun magazine or a few shotgun pellets are deadly whether you’re a series veteran or name.
On the other hand, it is also tempting to embark on the Invasion mode, which involves around sixty participants, in addition to artificial players. Through large levels, two teams compete (surprise!) With access to increasingly sophisticated and crazy modes of destruction and death. Eventually we will end up with ballistic missile attacks, drone strikes, etc.
Enjoyably chaotic, COD Modern Warfare 2 (not to be confused with Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, which came out two years ago… Yes, you lose your Latin there) is frankly promising. But will the interest go so far as to buy the game for a hefty price, if only to add a campaign, and maybe a few more game modes? Only time will tell. In the meantime, it’s really time to shop for a new graphics card…
