A three-year prison sentence and a fine of €8,000 were pronounced on Wednesday by the Dinant Criminal Court once morest a man prosecuted for cocaine trafficking and money laundering committed between April 2021 and April 2022 in Florennes.
The suspect was the subject of almost a year of investigation from which it appears, according to the Namur prosecutor’s office, that he sold 100 balls of 0.3 or 0.4 grams of cocaine every 15 days. “Some customers asked him not to serve them anymore, because they wanted to wean themselves off. It was he who ended up contacting them once more, ”explained the Namur prosecution during the hearing.
11.5g of cocaine were found at his home during a search. According to the prosecution, the defendant laundered the money from the traffic. A cash deposit of €28,600 in his personal account, €16,000 in online gaming winnings and €13,000 in bank transfers from other consumers were noted.
The principal concerned challenged the offending period and especially the profit motive behind this traffic.
