Coastal Carolina Volleyball Takes on Marshall Thundering Herd in Sun Belt Clash – ESPN+ Live Streaming

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina volleyball team will travel to Huntington, W.V., for a pair of Sun Belt road contests versus the Marshall Thundering Herd on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 27-28, at 6 p.m. and 1 p.m. ET, respectively, on ESPN+.

HISTORY BETWEEN COASTAL & MARSHALL

The Chanticleers lead the all-time series 2-1, with their lone loss coming in the 2012 season. This will be the first time that Coastal Carolina has traveled to Marshall.

ABOUT COASTAL

The Chanticleers enter the match with a 15-7 overall and 10-0 Sun Belt record following picking up a pair of home wins over the James Madison Dukes. Coastal will put its 10-match win streak on the line this weekend.

Coastal is led by reigning Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week outside hitter Jasmine Rivestwho has 337 kills on the season and 394 points for a 5.25 points per set average. Rivest, a redshirt senior, is joined by freshman Jalyn Stoutwho has 230 kills for 256 points. Stout also has 301 assists and 209 digs for an NCAA best eight triple-doubles. Agata Lesiak and Lauren Malone have helped out the offense with 154 and 146 spikes, respectively. Cagla Bengi is Coastal’s assists leader with 579.

On the defensive side, freshman libero Sydney Lewis helps the offense get set up with a team-high 304 digs. Valentina Varani and Dilara Unal protect the front line with 82 and 79 blocks, respectively, while Rivest (42), Lesiak (39), and Stout (21) have over 20 blocks on the year.

ABOUT MARSHALL

The Thundering Herd enters the week with a 12-12 overall and 4-6 SBC record following knocking off the Appalachian State Mountaineers last weekend. Marshall owns a two-match win streak following falling in five previous matches.

Lydia Montague leads the Herd’s offensive attack with 244 kills while Jazminn Parrish (195) and Brynn Brown (192) have added over 190 spikes. Marshall’s offense is aided by Brown who has 670 of the team’s 1,028 assists on the season.

Marshall’s defense is led by Montague (89), Essence Clerkley (55), and Brown (46) as the only Thundering Herd with 45 or more blocks, while Kylee Stokes has stopped 31 kill attempts. Peyton Neal has 286 digs to lead Marshall while Parrish and Brown have added 213 and 197 digs, respectively.
