In the morning hours yesterday, the Port Authority of Chania was informed about the existence of a large number of foreigners on the beach “POTAMOS” in Gavdos.
Officers of the Port Authority of Gavdos went to the spot and located 70 foreigners as well as an inflatable speed boat.
The foreigners were transported by passenger ferry (E/G-O/G) ship to the port of Sfakia and from there to a temporary accommodation facility in Agia Chania.
The Central Port Authority of Chania, which is conducting the preliminary investigation, arrested two foreigners (citizens of Sudan) aged 25 and 23, for violation of Law 3386/2005 “Illegal Entry into the Country”, Law 5038/2023 “Facilitation”, of the article 306 BC “Exposure”, as well as article 45 P.C. “Collaboration”, while the boat was confiscated.
