Manager Eric ten Haag has said he will not appeal Manchester United’s three match suspension for sending off Saturday’s match once morest Crystal Palace.
Players from both teams converged on the touchline following Jeffrey Schluff fouled Anthony. After a pitchside VAR check, Mariner determined that Casemiro had behaved violently towards Palace midfielder Will Hughes.
So following Casemiro’s sending off, Schluff scored a consolation goal, but United finished the match victorious. Casemiro will miss this week’s home-and-away Premier League fixture once morest Leeds United and away to Leicester City on Sunday, 19 February.
In a pre-match press conference on Tuesday ahead of a home game once morest Leeds United at Old Trafford, manager Ten Haag was asked if the club had thought regarding overturning the suspension.
“I was considering it.”
Director Ten Haag conceded before explaining why the appeal had not been initiated.
“I don’t think it was the right decision to send Casemiro out, but I thought there was no hope of salvation through an appeals process.”
With the injured Christian Eriksen, Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek missing, it might be a match for Marcel Savitzer to make his United starting debut.
Manchester United’s Anthony Martial is still out with an injury. Anthony can’t play in this game either.
“I am the director. You should always play once morest players who are available. We have a squad. There are many good players. They won’t always start, but other players will get a chance.”
“After the game, you can’t say there’s no Casemiro and you can’t say there’s no Martial. We have to win.”
“They are all players belonging to Manchester United. Whoever comes into the game, we have to win.”
