COACH for the Indonesian national gymnastics team, Eva Novalina, said that Rifda Irfanaluthfi’s strong determination was an important asset for the Indonesian gymnast to be able to compete with other athletes at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“One of Rifda’s strengths is that when she wants to, her determination is very strong. When she wants to achieve something, she will try to keep pursuing it,” said Eva, Monday (22/4).
He said that this strength of determination was also reflected in Rifda’s efforts to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Eva said that physically, Rifda was quite complete as an ideal gymnast, supported by her intelligence.
“Both anthropometry and others are ideal and he is also very smart so he accepts all instructions well, can translate what the coach wants,” he said.
Rifda is the only Indonesian gymnast athlete who has pocketed a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Currently, the 24 year old athlete is undergoing a training camp to prepare physically and mentally to appear in the world’s highest sporting competition.
Eva said that the focus of the training camp was directed at deepening movements and minimizing mistakes.
Apart from that, the focus is also on mental maturation considering that Rifda has not competed once more since recovering from a knee injury.
He added, at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Rifda is not targeted to win a medal but to be able to optimally present his best abilities. (Ant/Z-1)
