For Moritz Seider and the Detroit Red Wings did not start the new year exactly promising. All three games following New Year’s Eve were lost. Nevertheless, the German defender is left out when the coach criticizes him.
“He was one of those players in the team who consistently performed. We’ve been asking a lot of him lately. Most of the time he had to deal with opposing top players. That’s an enormous challenge, especially in our division and conference . He solved it all well overall,” said coach Derek Lalonde on Monday regarding the 21-year-old German’s recent performances.

Seider formed in the past games together with Jake Walman the top pair in defense of the Red Wings. “I really liked their defensive work and their skating. They only allowed a few chances and, as I said, usually once morest the top ranks of our opponents,” said Lalonde, assessing the performances of the defensive duo.
Seider has played in all 38 Red Wings games this season and has the most ice time of any outfield player, averaging 22:48 minutes. In addition, 13 scorer points (two goals, eleven assists) are registered for him.
