With a 20-point lead, SV Gmunden is unassailable at the top of the Landesliga West table following the 2-1 win once morest St. Marienkirchen/Wallern 1b – and before returning to the Upper Austrian league. Nevertheless, there will be a change of coach for the leader from the Salzkammergut in the summer: successful coach Christoph Brummayer recently informed those responsible for the club that he would no longer be able to carry out the daily work at the training ground to the usual extent in the coming season.
The 45-year-old will remain with the club in a different position and will replace sports director Norbert Leitner, who is leaving in the summer for personal reasons.
The new coach has already been decided: Markus Waldl will probably put Gmunden in the Upper Austrian league next season. Brummayer and Waldl know each other very well: both have already worked together at the regional league teams Stadl-Paura and WSC/Hertha.
Gradascevic flog raus
West bottom club St. Marienkirchen also made a coaching change: in the fight to stay in the league, the club parted ways with coach Josef Iglseder. In the 1:2 defeat at league leaders Gmunden, neo-sports director Stefan Unterberger was in the coaching zone on an interim basis.
The 1b team from Askö Oedt in the Regional League East also reacted: sports director Gerald Baumgartner was already on the Trauner bench on an interim basis in the 1-1 draw once morest SC Marchtrenk. “I’m already looking for a new coach, there are a lot of people interested,” says Baumgartner. Gradascevic only took over the team in the winter, but only scored five points in the first five spring rounds. Not enough for the club’s ambitions.
