The first vice-president of the National Council of the Transition (CNT), proceeded Monday, June 19, 2023, to the launch of the Association of Women of the Parliamentary Administration of Guinea (the AFAP-GUI).
According to the president, Hadja Mata Gadjigo, this women’s association is a child of the leadership of the president of the CNT, Dr. Dansa Kourouma. This is why the members did not hesitate to choose the latter as the honorary president for life of their association.
Its mission is guided by a vision, “that of stimulating and encouraging the emergence of a dynamic, responsible Guinean woman, united to the values of Parliament and fully committed to the process of rebuilding our country”.
The Women’s Association of the Parliamentary Administration also embodies values such as: “Independence, civility in patriotism, political neutrality in the promotion of equal rights between men and women.”
The women members of this association have made complaints to Dr. Dansa Kourouma.
“Within our ranks, we have had contractual women for several years whose confirmation in the parliamentary administration we seek from your benevolence. The creation of a Gender and Equity Department. We are sad to draw your attention to the case of our sick, bedridden and dependent collaborators. We are asking for a nursery to be set up”.
Before officially launching this association in the name of Dr. Dansa Kourouma, the first vice-president of the CNT, Mrs. Maimouna Yombouno informed the parliamentary executives of the importance of associative life.
“You have a framework for exchange, for advocacy, within which you can put pressure on decision-makers, that’s the importance of organizing yourself into an association. We want to see this baby (the new association, editor’s note) grow up under normal conditions”.
The AFAP-GUI is managed by an office made up of 12 members. Membership in this association is fixed at 75,000 GNG, it also has a monthly contribution which amounts to 50,000 GNG per member.
