CNSS: The increase in pensions validated by the Council of Government

The latest decrees adopted to extend medical coverage and pensions to the remaining socio-professional categories

Bet held for the government. The legal framework governing the generalization of social protection is ready. Indeed, the Government Council has just adopted the latest draft decrees necessary to launch this project.

In detail, the Executive has a council chaired by Aziz Akhannouch, the head of government. At the opening of the meeting, Mr. Akhannouch commended the great work accomplished by all the speakers with a view to successfully concretizing the generalization of social coverage according to the timetable set by His Majesty the King. Subsequently, the Government Council examined and approved draft decree No. 2.22.910 on the revaluation of pensions paid by the National Social Security Fund, presented by Fouzi Lakjaa, Minister Delegate to the Minister of economy and finance, in charge of the budget.

This project validates the revaluation of 5% of pensions, provided that this increase is not less than 100 dirhams per month. As part of the government’s ongoing effort to improve the situation of pensioners in the private sector, this project approves this increase with retroactive effect, from 1 January 2020. In addition, the Council of Government examined and approved seven projects of decrees, presented by Mustafa Baitas, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Relations with Parliament, Official Government Spokesperson, on behalf of Khalid Ait Taleb, Minister of Health and Social Protection.

These are the draft decree relating to the basic scheme of compulsory health insurance for persons unable to pay contributions, the draft decree establishing a pension scheme for the categories of professionals, self-employed , the draft decree establishing a pension scheme for the categories of professionals exercising a liberal activity and keeping accounts. The other texts adopted are the draft decree relating to traders and craftsmen keeping accounts, the draft decree concerning non-salaried sportsmen and sports managers active in football, the draft decree concerning non-salaried professional journalists and finally the draft decree concerning non-salaried athletes and sports executives active in certain sports.
