CMA CGM’s short sea shipping division announced on Friday, October 7, the launch of the new Butterfly Morocco Shuttle service linking Morocco, France and Spain. This new weekly service will start in Agadir, on November 10, 2022, in addition to cabotage in Morocco and to set up a sustainable maritime bridge with Agadir, for the next fruit and vegetable export campaign, said a press release.
This service thus enables a 75% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional transport by truck via this corridor. The main features are a fleet of two ships and 1,100 TEUs, flying the Moroccan flag. They are equipped with 220 Reefer / 45’RFH sockets and will operate the following rotation: Agadir / Port Vendres / Barcelona / Algeciras / Tanger Med / Casablanca / Agadir.
