Cloudflare, Inc. (NYSE: NET), the leading cloud connectivity company with a mission to help deliver a better Internet, today announced its continued growth in the Mexican market after a year of investment and expansion. Since the growth of its operations in Latin America in Mexico City a year ago, Cloudflare expanded its network infrastructure in Mexico with a new data center in Guadalajara, expanded its integrations with key customers and partners in the region, and established its strong cross-functional employee base.
In the most recent quarter, Cloudflare served an average of 50 billion internet requests for Mexico every day. At the same time, cyberattacks continue to grow in sophistication and volume. In Q3 2024, Cloudflare blocked an average of 99 million cyber threats per day targeting Mexico, a 35% increase compared to the previous quarter. Navigating this complex landscape, organizations across Mexico are facing significant pain points because of siled cloud solutions that make it difficult to form, scale and maintain security. Cloudflare’s connectivity cloud automatically identifies and mitigates attacks of all types across Mexico, while ensuring companies’ Internet properties remain accessible and operate quickly, even in the midst of attacks.
“Cloudflare’s first year of operations at the Mexico City location has set a solid foundation with our customers and partners across the Latin American technology ecosystem,” said Carlos Torales, Head of Cloudflare in Latin America. “We are deepening Cloudflare connectivity cloud platform integrations for organizations across industries, driven by our infrastructure network that continues to expand in the region. As we look ahead, we continue to focus on Cloudflare’s innovation along with growing the partnership to offer more Mexican companies our complete solution to secure and expand their operations globally.”
Today, about 20% of web passes through the Cloudflare network, one of the largest and most interconnected networks in the world. Cloudflare’s worldwide network comprises more than 330 cities in more than 120 countries, including more than 45 cities in Latin America and the Caribbean, from Mexico City to Queretaro, and now Guadalajara, marking its most recent expansion into Mexico in the last year. Cloudflare first invested in Mexico when it expanded its network to Latin America in 2014 and has since strategically positioned its infrastructure close to users in the region. Looking at Latin America and the Caribbean, Cloudflare has the greatest number of SASE points of presence in all suppliers, providing their services Cloudflare One Zero Trust closer to end users and reducing unwanted latency.
