The 21st National Festival of Ahidous, organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and the Taimat Association for the Arts of the Atlas ended on Sunday in Ain Leuh.
About fifteen groups of the art of Ahidouss representing associations coming from several cities of which Khémisset, El Hajeb, Khénifra, Séfrou, Midelt, Ben Mellal, Taourirte, Taza, Meknes, Boulmane and Ifrane occurred during the evening of closing of this festival, initiated under the high patronage of HM King Mohammed VI. The last day of this 21st Ahidouss Festival was marked by the holding of a symposium around the theme of “The Art of Ahidouss: Artistic and Scenic Memory”, led by eminent academic and artistic personalities.
During the opening ceremony of this artistic and cultural event, a tribute was paid to artists Atika Kassioui, Said Achroubal, Haddou Betach and Mohamed Ibrahimi, in recognition of their efforts and contributions to the preservation of this intangible heritage. The festival, initiated in collaboration with the province of Ifrane, the Commune of Ain Leuh and the Provincial Council of Ifrane, aims among other things to preserve cultural heritage in its multiple expressions and manifestations.
