Kinh Hoa II bronze drum and Kinh Hoa bronze jar are two of 27 newly recognized national treasures.
On January 30, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed a decision to recognize 27 national treasures, including Kinh Hoa II bronze drum and Kinh Hoa bronze jar.
These two artifacts are in the collection of Mr. Nguyen Van Kinh (Hanoi). The treasure file said: “The name of the artifact is associated with the name of collector Nguyen Van Kinh, the legal owner of the Kinh Hoa bronze drum, which has been recognized as a national treasure in 2020. The name Kinh Hoa II bronze drum is to distinguish it from the previous Kinh Hoa drum”.
The common naming of these artifacts also makes it easier to identify the object and its owner.
The Kinh Hoa II bronze drum is dated to the II-I centuries BC.
The drum face is decorated with 12-pointed stars, costumed dancers, and flying birds. Around the drum is a picture of a house on stilts.
This year, Mr. Nguyen Van Kinh also has another artifact also recognized as a national treasure, the Kinh Hoa bronze jar.
Kinh Hoa bronze jar dating from III-II centuries BC.
In the Kinh Hoa bronze collection, this bronze jar is called bronze jar No.
According to treasure records, Kinh Hoa bronze jars have a thin, jade-green patina surface that is smooth and fairly uniform, helping to protect the copper core inside and the decorative patterns outside.
Around the bronze jar is decorated with patterns of boats, peacocks, sams, fish, rowers.
