Clockwork robbery leaves one thief dead and another captured | THE UNIVERSAL

The robbery of a watch store north of Barranquilla ended badly for a couple of thieves: one of them died and another ended up captured.

The events occurred on the followingnoon of this Monday in a commercial establishment located on Calle 76 with Carrera 43.

The criminals intimidated the employees of the commercial establishment with a firearm to commit the theft, however, when they had everything ready to leave, the Barranquilla Metropolitan Police arrived.

The subjects, upon noticing the police presence, fired at the uniformed officers, leading to an exchange of shots, one of the assailants being injured, who died minutes later.

The subject killed, identified as Mateo Mejía Molina, 25, recorded judicial notes for the crimes of domestic violence and qualified theft.

The police managed to intercept the companion, materializing his rights as a captured person and he is transferred to the Uri facilities for the crime of theft and manufacturing, trafficking and carrying a firearm.

Finally, the Police managed to recover 116 watches of different brands, 1 perfume, 1 glasses and 4 cell phones, as well as the seizure of 2 traumatic firearms and 1 motorcycle, merchandise valued at approximately $100,000,000.
