Climbed between wagons: 74-year-old run over by train at Weyer train station

At 1:50 p.m. the pensioner is said to have illegally crossed the tracks at Weyer train station (Steyr-Land district). Meanwhile, an empty container train was waiting there to be cleared to continue its journey towards Ybbs and was blocking the way. According to police, the 74-year-old climbed between two wagons. At exactly that moment the freight train started moving and ran over the senior citizen, who was seriously injured.

Witnesses immediately provided first aid and called emergency services. After the man was stabilized for transport, he was flown to Amstetten Hospital in a rescue helicopter.
