Nearly 20,000 demonstrators are taking part in the climate march in Brussels, police said on Sunday followingnoon. The organizers of the demonstration count 25,000.
With 25,000 demonstrators present last year, according to police figures, and 30,000 according to the organizers, the march was less successful this year.

The demonstration kicked off around 1:15 p.m. at the Gare du Nord in Brussels. Thousands of participants gathered to demand action to combat climate change, once morest the backdrop of the 28th United Nations Climate Conference (COP28), currently taking place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Like previous demonstrations, the march is organized by the Climate Coalition, an umbrella of around a hundred NGOs, unions and citizen movements. The meeting was set near the Gare du Nord. The demonstrators then headed towards the Cinquantenaire park, where speeches and concerts will take place throughout the followingnoon.
