The National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrography (Insivumeh) reported the entry of humidity that might favor cloudy skies. However, he also noted that high temperatures will continue in the country.
In its bulletin on weather conditions, Insivumeh reported that “atmospheric instability” continues in Guatemala due to the proximity of a cold front in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico.
For its part, the National Meteorological System (SMN) of the Mexican government announced that cold front number 47 is moving over the Yucatan Peninsula and the western Caribbean Sea. This will cause isolated rains of 0.1 to five millimeters in the regions of Campeche, Quintana Roo and Yucatán. This mass of cold air gradually favors an increase in temperature.
With respect to Guatemala, the authorities reported that rains and electrical activity are expected for this Tuesday, April 23, in Bocacosta and the south of the West, the volcanic chain and areas of the Caribbean.
On the other hand, in the Central Altiplano and Valles de Oriente, scattered rains are not ruled out.
The Insivumeh pointed out that climatic conditions favor the presence of short-duration intense rains, strong wind and even the possibility of hail.
Meteorological authorities highlighted the presence of cloudy skies in the Northern Transversal Strip. Also, scattered cloudiness in the center of the country, the Caribbean and the north of Petén. The rest of the country will be able to experience clear skies.
