Climate activists blocked Tyrolean Brenner motorway |  Nachrichten.at

As the “Tiroler Tageszeitung” reported online, climate activists from the “Last Generation” group blocked the road towards Brenner between the Schönberg toll booth and the Matrei-Steinach junction in the morning. The protest was broken up following regarding half an hour, according to police. The roadway was reopened to traffic at 10:50 a.m. Around 20 people were partially stuck on the street. Musicians also took part in the blockade.

The dissolution had been ordered by the authorities. Some of the activists had left the motorway on their own, it was said. It was not yet known whether and how many people would be reported.

This was not the first time that the Brenner motorway became the destination of the “Last Generation”. Its members have already brought traffic there to a standstill twice.
