WHAT ARE THE SOCIAL MISSIONS OF THE FOUNDATION?
The Foundation acts concretely to support people weakened by disability and old age with, in a pioneering way, specific attention to the needs of people affected by Alzheimer’s disease and their families. These actions take several forms. Volunteering, at home, in hospital structures or in nursing homes, represents more than 31,000 hours per year to support people in vulnerable situations. The Foundation was a pioneer in promoting organized and trained volunteering. In 2022, 74% of the Foundation’s resources were devoted to the creation of specialized establishments (EHPAD, IME, etc.) managed on a non-profit basis. In 2025, the EHPAD de Demain will open in Belfort, a humanly ambitious project with 127 places. In Nice, the Claude Pompidou Institute is a reference in welcoming and caring for people affected by Alzheimer’s disease. In Corrèze, a social center welcomes young people in difficulty.
YOU SUPPORT THE CERMAD PROJECT IN PARIS. WHAT IS ITS PURPOSE ?
CERMAD, a center of excellence for Alzheimer’s disease and brain diseases, will be operational in 2025 within the Pitié Salpêtrière Hospital. Led by Professor Bruno Dubois, it should enable progress in the early detection of the disease and the understanding of its onset factors. Science is an essential response to the 900,000 people affected and the 225,000 new cases detected each year in France.
WHERE DO YOUR RESOURCES COME FROM?
The Foundation, recognized for the rigor of its management, does not receive any operating subsidies from the State. Our resources come from donations, legacies and charitable events. Thus, the annual gala organized in 2022 by Natacha Dassault and Monique Pozzo di Borgo, made it possible to raise the sum of 600,000 euros allocated to a highly anticipated autism project. The Foundation acts on behalf of a multitude of donors. Each donation is essential support and encouragement to strengthen our presence among the most vulnerable, with professionalism and humanity.
