American pitcher Hawick Deng will join the Chinese team. Head coach Lin Yueping said today that in order to comply with major league regulations, Hawick Deng took a flight back to Taiwan today and is expected to report tomorrow. He will be on the plate for the official warm-up match on March 5.
Hawick Deng was originally scheduled to support the major league warm-up games at the end of February, but he has not been seen on the Giants’ roster for the last few games. Lin Yueping said that the team has arranged for him to pitch in the self-run games of spring training. The league players are the same, taking a flight today.
Since the giants have set up a protection plan for Hawick Deng, Lin Yueping revealed that Hawick Deng will be arranged as a relay in the classic game. The current plan is to report tomorrow, start practicing with the team on the 3rd, and play 1 inning on the 5th.
