Monterrey.— Governor of Nuevo Leon Samuel García, announced the suspension of classes due to the heavy rains that are being recorded in the metropolitan area.
In his Instagram stories, the state president indicated that all morning shift classes will be canceled to avoid putting students at risk.
This Sunday followingnoon intense rainfall was reported in the metropolitan area, the citrus region and the southern area of Nuevo León.
Due to this, rescue forces were deployed in various areas considered risky for the population due to reports of flooding and puddles.
It was even necessary closure of some roads in the metropolitan area to avoid accidents.
Among them are main avenues such as Raúl Salinas, Santa Bárbara, Fidel Velázquez, Eugenio Garza Sada, Ruiz Cortines, Paseo de los Leones and Aztlán.
However, this was not enough to avoid the danger since some people still ended up with their cars stranded in the middle of the large puddles of water caused by the rains.
Among the recommendations before the rainy seasons, State Civil Protection asked citizens to take shelter and refrain from going out.
For motorists, he requested to have the vehicle in good condition, turn on the lights and windshield wipers.
To the population in general: avoid touching power poles or cables, and during an electrical storm, do not stay near trees.
