In the early morning of Wednesday November 20, a traffic incident in the Santa Cruz sector, Medellín, escalated to a violent confrontation with armas of fire, leaving four people injured. The attack, the result of an argument between the drivers of a car and a motorcycle, generated a police deployment that ended with the capture of three alleged perpetrators, thanks to the quick action of the authorities and the use of surveillance technology.
According to the police report, the event broke out when a gray vehicle and a motorcycle collided on a busy road in the sector. What appeared to be a minor clash quickly escalated into a heated argument. According to witnesses and security camera records, the occupants of the car chased the motorcyclists after the crash.
When the motorcycle stopped, one of the vehicle’s occupants got out armed and shot against the motorcyclists and two other people who were at the scene. The victims suffered gunshot wounds, but, fortunately, none of them were seriously injured, as confirmed by medical authorities.
The immediate reaction of the authorities was key to preventing the attackers from escaping. A call to the emergency number 123 alerted the authorities, who activated the video surveillance network of the Aburrá Valley. Thanks to this technology, they were able to follow the route of the vehicle involved.
At the time of the capture, the agents seized a 9 mm caliber pistol with eight cartridges. The suspects will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office, facing charges of attempted murder and illegal possession of firearms.

**Host:** Just yesterday, early in the morning, a shooting occurred following a clash in Medellín, resulting in four injuries and the capture of three suspects. Can you tell us what you know about the situation?
**Dr. Gutierrez:** Yes, from what I understand, the confrontation appears to have been related to ongoing gang activities in the area—a persistent issue in certain neighborhoods of Medellín. Community outreach is also crucial; they need to engage with locals to build trust and gather information.

**Dr. Gutierrez:** Incidents like these can create a lasting sense of fear and instability within the community.
