The child who was seriously injured due to the impact of the thunder was immediately taken to the hospital, but his life might not be saved. The vehicle that hit the child disappeared on the street without stopping. French media reports that police are searching for the driver of the vehicle.

Considering the tense situation, the police had strengthened the security at the place even before the match. There are also reports that the police arrested regarding 40 people for possession of prohibited weapons and regarding 115 people for rioting. The video of the riot is widely circulated on social media.

Herault MP Natalee Ozial condemned the incident. She tweeted that she is saddened that a sport has ended in such a tragedy and shares the grief of the family of the slain child.
