Clarifications from ONEE on the call for tenders for the acquisition of computer equipment

Thus, the Office recalls, in its right of reply, that on April 13, the Director General of ONEE presented before the Commission for Infrastructure, Energy and Mines in the House of Representatives, the Office’s overall situation in a context marked by rising fuel prices.

He also outlined the measures taken by ONEE both to continue fulfilling its public service mission in the vital sectors of electricity, drinking water and liquid sanitation, as well as those taken to redress the financial situation. of ONEE, in coordination with its relevant line Ministries, adds the same source. Among the actions taken within the framework of these measures, ONEE made a cut of nearly 1 billion dirhams (MMDH) in its investments deemed not directly contributing to the continuity of service.

For more information, the call for tenders (AO) for the acquisition of computer equipment was published in the national press, dated April 20, 2022, and via the Public Procurement portal on April 21, 2022, in full compliance with the requirements stipulated by the Moroccan public procurement regulations in force and under the supervision of an ONEE Tenders Commission, composed of representatives of the Public Administration and the State Controller in charge of the portfolio of the ‘ONEE.

This call for tenders follows a previous AO, of the same consistency, launched in 2021, and which had been canceled by the said Commission due to having received a single bidder. Enjoying the right of cancellation in accordance with the regulations in force, ONEE relaunched it.

“It is a question of replacing a stock of computer equipment (PCs and printers) which has become unsuitable today for the functional requirements of the activity, in addition to stopping the marketing, on the computer market, of spare parts for this equipment, acquired under a market contracted in 2011”, underlines the Office, adding that the equipment in question is not only technically outdated, but also dilapidated and out of use.

The Office, by virtue of its position as a strategic operator, has the obligation to have adequate resources and means to ensure, under the best conditions, the mission with which it is invested, namely to ensure the supply of electrical energy and drinking water as well as the liquid sanitation service throughout the national territory under the best conditions of safety, reliability and speed, concludes the same source.
