The German manufacturer Claas updates its range of Lexion combines for the next season. As expected, she inherits the new cabin inaugurated on the Trion. Offering more space for the feet and the head, this driver’s compartment wider by a few centimeters benefits from a new windscreen equipped with a 360-degree rotating windscreen wiper, thinner uprights and, as an option, footrests, a leather seat that swivels 30 degrees to the right or left, an LED pack, a 30-litre cooler under the passenger seat or even a multimedia pack with subwoofer and microphone gooseneck.
Also optional, Dynamic Steering reduces the number of turns of the steering wheel by 40% from stop to stop.
Regarding the kinematics, the Lexion 7000 and 8000 are now equipped with a segmented beater. Thanks to this new architecture and to the supply plates arranged laterally and in the centre, the material is better distributed on the two rotors. All 2023 Lexions feature a slow restart following a reversal of the direction of rotation of the threshers. This avoids any peak load, when the combine harvester reabsorbs the package.
Otherwise, new models appear in the catalog. Building on its success across the Atlantic, the Lexion 8600 and 8600 Terra Trac arrive in Europe. They take up the same characteristics as the 8700 and 8700 Terra Tracexcept for the Man D26 12.4 l engine developing 549 hpsuch as the Lexion 7700. For the next season, the Lexion 8700 gains 41 hp to reach 626 hpwhile the Lexion 8800 inherits the 16.2 l Man D42 block from its big sister, now displaying 700 hp (+ 47 hp).
In addition, the Lexions return to all-wheel drive Montana and its self-leveling frame (18 degrees in slope, 6 in pitch), the models 5500 and 7700 now available in this version.
On the electronic side, the Cemos Dialog relies on a new loss measurement system, in order to gain precision in the calibrations. Finally, the Cemos Connect appears on the Lexion and Trion and allows transfer settings parameters from one machine to another via telematics.
